9/97: "she was tough! ...I was five inches taller and 45 lbs heavier, but I was always on the defensive, and worn down after 20 min. I have never wrestled a woman who could shift the tide of a match so fast, she was impossible to pin and could escape out holds very quickly. She also had a great knowledge of submissions holds, which she used effectively. I might have snuck 1 or two pins in on her if we were counting them, but overall Redd really outclassed me. "

2/00: "Seldom does one experience, the delightful blend of skill, stamina, intelligence, and humor that Redd brings to the mat. Every time is like a first encounter, mostly because she is constantly training and improving her technique. Already accomplished, with a high degree of skill, in Brazilian jujitsu, she brings all to the mat in a controlling fashion, using her skill to off balance, overcome, and control her opponents. Often times she has surprised me and taken control of the fall from the bottom, working into an arm bar or choke and gaining a submission. This is something most women that I have wrestled cannot accomplish with me. For Redd to be able to be competitive with me on regular basis is totally phenomenal. I have practiced jujitsu for over 7 years, and have won regional tournaments in Judo. Add to this, the fact that I am 100 lb. heavier than Redd, and you can understand what a miracle on the mat she really is."
3/00: "a very good session. She was friendly, personable and very strong. She had great expertise in Brazilian jujitsu holds, particularly chokes. She could apply submission holds easily whenever I got careless. I got my money's worth. I left sore, stretched out a bit, but happy."
9/01: " I have wrestled over 40 of the top girls and Redd is among the best. If you are looking for a feminine woman who is cute and fit and is a great wrestler, Redd is perfect. I am 6-3 180 and quite fit, but Redd (at 130) completely controlled the match. She is maybe the most skilled of all the girls I have wrestled (due to her extensive BJJ background), and she is very flexible and strong. She is also VERY stubborn. She refuses to lose and was always able to twist her way out of trouble and get me in control. She was the best ever at tying me up and has great instincts for holds. Redd is also very fun and witty."
11/04: "I am five-eight, and one-forty-five pounds so had only a marginal advantage over Redd whom I guessed at five four and one twenty-five pounds. I did notice that she has well defined muscles, especially her abs, large breasts and beautiful reddish hair now pulled back for the match. At the time, I did not know she has a college degree as a teacher and is certified in yoga instruction, massage therapy, reads a lot and has a playful sense of humor. She also is an excellent writer and is truly passionate about wrestling as evidenced in her article, Click here: Untitled Our first match was a just what I had in mind with personal priorities of having fun, getting a good workout and learning more about submission wrestling. Redd paces herself and seems to find just the right amount of technique, strength and timing to keep appropriate intensity leading to a very pleasant and invigorating session. Redd evidenced her skill without any sort of edge other than having fun and "going for it". As I recall, I "lost" the match on submissions but somehow felt a winner for the experience."
1/09: "A few years ago I wrestled Redd on her room-sized real mat in San Francisco . She was state lightweight jujitsu champ at the time, and WB had reported “she might be the best lightweight female US grappler “ . I outweighed her by at least 45 lbs, but never got close a single submission. We tried pins; same result. When I made mistakes, she taught me about holds and escapes. She led me through my third-ever session, and made me work. It was all in good fun, too. What an earnest, smiling athlete. And very strong. This year I went back for another fun competitive hour.

Now, she has a fully-matted place looking out into the countryside, a unique setting. (Anyone who likes near-fantasy visual surroundings, try Redd’s hideaway!) Wrestling? She's been doing it for a while now. Well, this year she was every bit as enjoyable and skilled. Trim and muscular like last time though now she has longer red-brown hair. These days she trains for fun, not competition or body building. She just loves to wrestle in a bikini. Well, she put me on my back right away. And she knew exactly how to move and escape and to counter every move I made. I could not catch her in anything (and I had learned some technique since last time). She is superbly limber and can move in about 8 directions at once. I got exhausted (but happy) after tapping out from various moves. Then we had a great talk about yoga and life.

She is a fine and sincere person. I want to revisit the Bay Area and her mat room soon. If I wanted to be totally overcome and twisted into a pretzel, or just treated to a leisurely first mat lesson and workout, I would also wrestle Redd again. She believes in what she does, and does it fantastically well. A true Redd hot!"
6/09: "Redd is a voluptuous redhead with a great sense of humor and the grappling skills of a non-mortal. When I first stepped onto the mat with her I had known for some time that it was technically possible for a skilled female grappler to defeat a much larger and stronger male opponent but up until that moment in time I had no idea just how easily it could be done. I am an exceptionally strong and athletic individual with a background in the grappling arts who outweighed Redd by a good fifty pounds, so, needless to say, I was quite astonished when in less than a minute into our match I suddenly found myself being constricted like one of those helpless mammals you see on the Nature channel that has just become a python’s next meal. Over the course of an hour Redd submitted me at will, using a variety exotic submission holds that included armbars and triangle-chokes, and generally toyed with me as if I were a small toddler."
